Our why
Nationwide there are huge numbers of unwanted dogs and cats.
Ruahine Animal Rescue is based in Central Hawke's Bay and are a group of passionate animal lovers with past experience of animal welfare in the community. We are determined to offer the community a compassionate and humane service for care of animals.
Our goals
To work alongside the Central Hawke's Bay Community to care for and rehome animals who need our love and support.
To provide a compassionate and safe haven for animals in need in Central Hawke's Bay
We are looking for Volunteers to help on a regular basis, Foster homes to open their home to save an animals life and members of the community to become a financial member.
We are fully dependant on donations from the community; financial, dry and wet food for cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, dog crates and cat cages, leads, collars and toys

We currently share our shelter space with the Central Hawke's Bay District Council Animal Services team so an appointment to view animals or to visit the team to make donations or other administration tasks is necessary.
