What's happening
Our shelter lease has not been renewed.
For years, Ruahine Animal Rescue has been the safety net for animals in Central Hawke's Bay, the ones who arrived frightened, abandoned, or surrendered, and left loved and rehomed.
We are now working against the clock to find a new permanent base, a space where animals can be safely housed, assessed, and matched with families who will love them.
This is not the end of Ruahine Animal Rescue. It is the beginning of something better if we move fast, and if our community moves with us.
