BECOME A FOSTER CARER

Are you willing to open your home to save an animal's life? Foster kittens, cats, dogs or puppies in your own home and give the the love and care they need until a permanent home is found.

So your have decided to become a fosterer

Without our network of foster homes throughout Hawke's Bay we would not be able to rescue and rehome as many animals as we do.

As a fosterer you may be dealing with animals that are fearful, anxious and reactive. It may take several months to find a furrever home for an animal, so you will need to be fully committed to the time it may take.

What does a fosterer do?

Provide basic training, provide exercise and stimulation, meet with potential adopters, provide updates of progress and behaviour to the Ruahine Animal Rescue team and transport the animal to vet appointments when and if required.

We will support you by
