-
Cats (12+ months) - $150
-
Puppies (up to 6 months) - $300
-
Dogs (6+ months) - $250
-

This fee helps us to cover all the essential treatments before adoption and also helps us to take care of more animals in need.
At the time of adoption each animal will be dewormed, deflead, vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and come with a welcome pack. Dogs will be registered for the remaining year but registration from the new year onwards registration will be the responsibility of the new owner(s).
If the dog is not desexed at the time of adoption an agreement will be made for desexing of the animal. As we advocate for responsible pet ownership Ruahine Animal Rescue will cover the cost of the desexing as part of the adoption fee.
** Before the adoption is completed Ruahine Animal Rescue will conduct a property inspection to ensure the house and surroundings will be suitable for the pet. We will consider the environment including other pets and children, any special needs of the animal and fencing if required.

A little bit about me:
Meet Caesar – a handsome heart-stealer with brains to match!
Caesar is a stunning 6-year-old Staffy cross with loads of love to give. He’s got great lead manners, a solid sit, and a reliable recall... this boy listens!
Highly intelligent (and a bit of a clever escape artist), Caesar can even open gates, so he’ll need a secure property to keep him safe at home.
He would thrive as the only pet, he’s not a fan of cats and can be a little too enthusiastic around other dogs.
Caesar hasn’t been tested with children, but due to his size and strength, an adult household or one with older kids would be best.
This energetic lad loves a good game of fetch or tug and would make an incredible companion for someone who’s home often, perhaps a workmate out on the property or by your side during the day.
If you’re looking for a loyal, clever, and loving best friend who’ll repay your care with endless devotion, Caesar could be the perfect match.

Say hello to this little bundle of energy! This cute, medium-sized girl is an absolute dynamo with a heart full of love and a personality that will light up your home. Friendly to everyone she meets, she is going to make someone a truly wonderful family companion.
She's great with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and is okay around cats — making her a fantastic fit for a busy family household. She already knows sit, so she's got a head start on her training journey!
This little girl is toy mad and loves nothing more than a good play session — perfect for active kids or anyone who enjoys interactive time with their dog.
She's comfortable sleeping in a crate, which is a huge bonus for new owners and makes settling into a new home that much easier.
She does have plenty of energy and enthusiasm, so she'll need an owner ready to invest time in her training and channel all that spark in the right direction.
The good news? With the right family behind her, this girl is going to absolutely shine.
If you're looking for a fun, friendly, loving family dog who will bring endless laughs and loyalty to your home, this little dynamo could be the one!

Lobo is a chilled, easygoing 4‑year‑old German Shepherd/Husky mix who loves a good play session just as much as a lazy afternoon snooze.
He has impeccable manners, has completed obedience training, and is great with kids.
On lead he’s calm and steady, and he stays relaxed when passing other dogs. Lobo has been housed outdoors and was initially crate‑trained. He’ll need a home with secure fencing and no cats or poultry, as he has a strong prey drive. His recall is lovely, and with a bit of familiarisation he’ll bond deeply with a family who understands the needs of these breeds.
Lobo has spent his whole life with his litter brother Rouco, so a home that can take both would be wonderful — though he’s also perfectly able to be adopted on his own.

Jed is one seriously smart cookie — highly intelligent, eager to learn, and incredibly trainable. If you're looking for a dog that will keep up with you and then some, Jed is your guy!
A true farm dog at heart, Jed is right at home around stock and knows his way around cows and horses. He's completely unfazed by the busy sights and sounds of farm life — motorbikes and tractors don't bother him one bit, making him a reliable working companion out in the paddock.
He's good with other dogs and okay around cats, and is well used to jumping in the car for a ride. With his intelligence and natural instincts, Jed has all the makings of an outstanding farm dog — he just needs the right person to bring out his full potential.
Jed is a little hesitant around children, so he would be best suited to an adult-only home or a household with older, respectful kids. In the right environment with patient handling, he is the kind of dog that will reward you tenfold.
If you're a farmer, smallholder, or an experienced dog owner looking for a sharp, loyal, and capable companion — Jed could be exactly who you've been looking for.

Misty is an absolute sweetheart — gentle, loving, and one of those dogs that seems to win everyone over the moment she arrives. If you're searching for a loyal companion who fits just as comfortably into family life as she does on the farm, look no further!
A natural around stock, Misty is completely at ease with cows and horses and takes motorbikes and tractors all in her stride — a true farm girl through and through.
She's great with other dogs and perfectly fine around cats too, making her a wonderfully easy fit in a busy household or working environment.
But what really makes Misty special is her love for children. Gentle and patient, she is a natural with kids and would thrive in a family setting where she gets plenty of love and attention in return.
Misty comes to a whistle, which is a great foundation for any working or outdoor lifestyle. She's average on the lead, so a little leash training will go a long way — but with her gentle nature and willingness to please, she'll pick it up in no time.
Whether you're after a hardworking farm companion, a loving family dog, or both — Misty ticks every box. She's the kind of dog that will nestle her way into your heart and never leave.

A little bit about us:
Meet Little Miss & Poppy – a purrfect pair of sunshine-loving sisters.
Looking for double the love? Little Miss (DLH) and her sister Poppy (DSH) are two beautiful black-and-white sweethearts who share a special bond and we’d love to see them find their forever home together.
These girls are the perfect mix of personalities. Poppy is the curious one - she likes to keep an eye on everything, always ready to investigate what’s going on around her. While she can be a little reserved at first, once she warms up, she’s right in the middle of the action.
Little Miss, on the other hand, is the laid-back sunseeker. She’s more likely to be found stretched out in a warm patch of light, purring contentedly while her sister handles the exploring.
Both girls are affectionate, cuddly, and full of gentle charm. They love their cuddles, enjoy a good chin scratch, and will reward you with soothing purrs and quiet companionship.
If you’re looking to welcome a loving duo into your life, Little Miss and Poppy are ready to fill your home with warmth, purrs, and twice the love.
